KCOS Faculty Research Grants Program
The Klein College of Science (KCOS) Faculty Research Grants (FRG) Program provides internal funding to support faculty research and scholarly activities. Funding from this program is typically used to start or advance research-related projects that will result in proposals for external funding, new publications, and/or course-based research experiences.
The KCOS FRG award period covers a period of 12 months aligning with the University’s fiscal year. Funds for the 2026-27 KCOS FRG Program will be available starting on July 1, 2026, and must be expended by May 15, 2027.
- The maximum budget for an individual faculty member’s FRG budget is $8,000, including a stipend of up to $4,000.
- Joint proposals involving two KCOS faculty members may request up to $16,000 ($8,000 per faculty member, with a maximum total stipend of $8,000).
- Collaborative proposals with other Colleges are permitted with funding from the College of the collaborating faculty member.
Proposals for funding through the 2026-27 KCOS FRG Program are due by 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Please see the guidelines document for details on what is included in the proposal and format. The final proposal is uploaded as a single PDF file via the proposal submission form. Applicants whose proposals are approved for funding will be notified by mid-March 2026.
