About Us

The UNC Charlotte Klein College of Science was established in 2023 and is a collaborative community dedicated to advancing science through discovery and innovation, teaching and mentoring, entrepreneurship, engagement with local and global communities and increasing access to opportunities for students, faculty and staff.

The College is comprised of five units:

  • Aggarwal Department of Physics and Optical Science
  • Department of Biological Sciences
  • Department of Chemistry
  • Department of Mathematics and Statistics
  • UNC Charlotte Botanical Gardens

The Botanical Gardens are a living classroom and collaborative research hub, home to 10 acres of gardens, 7 distinct greenhouse rooms and a carnivorous courtyard.

KCOS promotes success by connecting with and supporting all students in their exploration of science and mathematics to create an inquisitive, scientifically literate society.
