A UNC Charlotte research team including graduate and undergraduate students has produced research that is contributing to what we know about how the body’s processes handle the harmful byproducts of living. The team has uncovered a previously unknown surveillance mechanism used by cells to monitor oxidatively damaged DNA.

In its first poster competition in optics and photonics, the SPIE/OSA Student Chapter at UNC Charlotte showcased students’ research in mid-January.
